NEXT COSTUME WALKABOUTSaturday, April 14, 201211amTITANIC BON VOYAGE! |
The RMS Titanic set off on its first and last voyage on April 10, 1912. She hit an iceberg four days into the crossing at 11:40 pm on April 14, 1912, and sank at 2:20 am on the morning of April 15, 1912.
1912 is the year of the Edwardian Period (named after King Edward who reigned from 1902-1910). The style of dress was transitioning out of the Victorian Period (Queen Victorian died 1901), and living was still innocent and technology abounded (as this was before the First World War [1914-1919]).
Come walk with us at the Del Mar Antiques Show and commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Maiden Voyage of the Titanic in the dress, professions, personalities and popular icons of the period!
Were you are lifeboat survivor? A relative of a Titanic passenger? A member of the band? Crew, Captain, or Service person? A rescuer from another ship? A famous inventor, doctor, politician or gangster of the day? Or maybe a 1912 vaudeville performer, musician, singer, dancer or Hollywood silent screen star? So many costume moments!
